QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

Adaptive quantitative
trading infrastructure
for futures markets.

BALNOE is an experimental quantitative research and development platform focused on building automated trading systems that adapt to changing market conditions.

Research. Build. Test. Adapt.
FROM STATIC STRATEGIES TO ADAPTIVE SYSTEMS

Traditional systematic trading
often asks:

“What strategy worked
best in the past?

VS

BALNOE asks a different question:

“Which strategy is best suited
to the market we're in now?

Bayesian Learning

Directing research toward the configurations and hypotheses most likely to provide useful information.

Market Regime Analysis

Identifying meaningful differences in market behaviour rather than assuming markets are stationary.

Strategy Selection

Evaluating independent trading strategies and their evidence under current conditions.

Neural & Statistical Modelling

Exploring machine-learning approaches for recognising relationships between market states and strategy performance.

Automated Research

Turning large-scale historical testing into a structured research process rather than relying solely on manual optimisation.

THE OBJECTIVE

Build systems that adapt — rather than systems that simply remember.

A strategy can produce exceptional historical results and still be completely unsuitable for the market environment that follows.

BALNOE is being developed around the premise that strategy selection should itself be adaptive. The goal is not to discover one perfect trading strategy, but to develop a framework capable of determining when different strategies should — and should not — be trusted.

BUILT FOR FUTURES

Research first. Execution second.

BALNOE's initial research is focused on US futures markets, with development and testing conducted within NinjaTrader 8.

CURRENT STATUS

BALNOE is currently under development.

The platform is being built through iterative research, extensive historical testing and systematic out-of-sample validation.

No strategy is considered successful simply because it performs well in-sample. The objective is robustness.
